According to the official, the initial groups of paratroopers were dispatched late last week. In particular, a brigade combat team has arrived in the Middle East, including communications and support units.

The paratroopers will continue arriving this week. The source said that a total of 3,000 service members from the 82nd Airborne Division—an entire brigade—will be deployed to the region.
